Engineering Manager, Blockchain

Anchorage Digital builds an advanced digital asset platform for institutions—custody, staking, trading, governance, settlement, and industry-leading security infrastructure. Home to Anchorage Digital Bank N.A., the first federally chartered crypto bank in the U.S., and backed by investors including Andreessen Horowitz, GIC, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and Visa. The company requires all new hires to complete an in-person onboarding process (physical identity verification and secure IT setup).
Responsibilities:
- Refine the engineering roadmap, drive operational excellence, and create technology strategy for your team.
- Lead a team of engineers and take ownership for their quality of execution, timeliness of delivery, impact, and growth.
- Mentor, coach, and provide feedback to support personal and professional progression of team members.
- Work closely with Product Managers to align product plans with team bandwidth and technical realities.
- Drive hiring, retention, recruiting efforts, and performance management for your team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing, mentoring, and growing geographically distributed teams.
- Real-world experience building complex distributed systems.
- Strong computer science fundamentals: concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience with applied cryptography.
- Professional experience with Go, Rust, TypeScript, or Solidity.
- Background in the finance industry.
- Familiarity with optimistic and zero-knowledge technologies.
